Every so often someone asks why they should work on their solo jazz, and to them we say: Because it's awesome! Want… https://t.co/iHTGowpUxU

Pamela Gaizutyte in Sydney

Swing Patrol is proud to present a special opportunity in Sydney, one weekend only, for top level international learning from guest instructor Pamela Gaizutyte (LIT).

Over a full weekend, Pamela will explore
* Solo Jazz – increasingly popular among swing dancers, to build skills and confidence in dancing rhythms alone and with a partner, and improve quality of movement.
Watch Pamela dancing a Solo Jazz performance at All Lithuanian Weekend 2017:

* Lindy Hop – experience Pamela’s approach to lindy hop, focusing on technique, musicality, freedom and body awareness. Pamela has a wealth of knowledge to share with leads and follows. She will be ably supported by one of Swing Patrol’s most experienced teachers, Derek Carruthers.
Watch Pamela dancing at last year’s Savoy Cup (with Martynas Stonys):

A workshop weekend designed for intermediate and advanced level swing dancers.

Workshop Level

This workshop is for swing dancers who learn at an intermediate or advanced level. You’ve probably been swing dancing for a couple of years, are very comfortable with the basics of lindy hop and with social dancing at a variety of speeds. You’re ready to further your technical skills and progress to the next level, improving your technique and quality of movement.

YOUR TEACHER

PAMELA GAIZUTYTE
Humorous and dynamic, keen, full of heart and a touch of the anarchic, Pamela was spellbound by Lindy Hop energy and community at the age of sixteen when she started her first classes at Lindyhop.lt Club in Vilnius. Despite her young age Pamela has already brought herself to light constantly learning anything related to dancing, be it music, psychology or anatomy.
In 2009, Pamela began working at Hoppers’ Dance Studio in her hometown of Vilnius, Lithuania. Today she dances and teaches with the top leaders in the international Lindy Hop scene. Having no constant partner has given Pamela space to bring a lot of variety to her dance – no wonder dancers call her one of the most exciting followers in recent years.
As a dancer Pamela cherishes individuality and freedom. For her Lindy Hop is not as much about impeccable technique as it is about musicality and awareness. As a teacher she shares her values and encourages people to find their own way of dancing: ’’Learn to be ok with the way you are and how your body moves. It’s all about you.’’
Nietzsche once said ’’You need chaos in your soul to give birth to a dancing star’’.
