Blues for Justice

The opportunity to dance and teach blues has been one of the great privileges of our lives. For this we owe an immense debt to the African American communities and culture from whom these dances came, and who are still living with oppression and injustice

On Wed 10th June we hope to come together and turn grief into action. We invite you to join us for an all-levels blues class featuring exclusively black American musicians.

We are asking for a $10 donation from everyone who participates, and we will match dollar for dollar all money raised up to $1000.
Donations can be made via PayPal to bluesforjustice@gmail.com. Alternatively, please send a message to Andy Fodor on Facebook.

This class is for dancers of any level or style, as well anyone who wants to tune in to join the community and enjoy some wonderful blues music.

We hope to honour the incredible and ongoing history of struggle by African American people. As well, we acknowledge that we teach this class on the never-ceded lands of the Wurundjeri people and that in our own country, indigenous people face similar issues of dispossession, mass incarceration and injustice.

Money raised will be split between two groups:
