Carl Joseph

From humble beginings at Silvers Nightclub in February '99 Carl was bitten by the swing bug (and a strange dose of radiation) and became the "Lord of The Dance". He soon began teaching classes with some of the earliest of the Swing Patrol teaching team. He travelling over the world to seek guidance from the guru masters and with Claudia Funder, was one of the first to bring Balboa to Melbourne.

Carl retired from the dance scene in 2006 to dedicate more time on his hobby of collecting vintage bottle tops. Rumours have abounded as to whether he will return. Most recently he has allegedly been spotted dancing again at the 2011 Melbourne Swing Festival ball and at Revellers.

If you do see him around (he's the guy covering up his bald head with a cap), ask him for a dance because it's likely most of the people he used to dance with back in the day have now moved on.
