Swing Pit occurs on the 2nd and 4th Friday of the month; a beginner focused night for those who feel they need a bit more confidence in social dancing. All dancers from Beginners to Advanced are most welcome at both events!

Blues dancing is the one of Sydney’s new passions. It's a slower dance that will have you moving to the music and exploring partner connection in a new exhilarating way. Julie O’Reilly is the organizer of the night and is scheduling a variety of wonderful interstate guest teachers and great local talent to stimulate and inspire Sydney dancers. The blues night is one of the best social dancing nights in town!

Savoy Stomps Swinging Sundays **Monthly Event**

Come along and dance the night away. Performance troupe Savoy Stomp are hosting this monthly night for everyone to enjoy regardless of whether you have danced a week, a year or a lifetime. the muisc will be diverse and fabulous and a little different to the "beginner friendly" music at the Swing Pit which we all enjoy so much. Its time for the scene to have some diversity in venues and approaches for social dancing and we're hoping this will be great fun.

The Swing Pit Fortnightly Event

A little secret hip dance floor in the heart of Newtown. A great mix of music, DJs and dancers. The class before the social night is anchored by Jake and it is a great way to break the ice and meet some dancers before the evening really gets under way! If you are a new dancer, go and enjoy watching some of Sydney's finest swing dancers in action. The Swing Pit has had many international and interstate guests who rave about the vibe and is known as the swing event not to be missed!

Each Swing Pit on the 2nd Friday of the month will be beginner focused with classes fun and simple to get those starting off in swing a chance to learn some moves to practice throughout the evening. Even the music throughout the night will be aimed at those who are just starting out in swing dancing. Music with strong beats and well known songs will be spun out by our experienced Dj's. Of course all dancers, beginner, intermediate and experienced, are welcome!

There will be stranger dancers, a quick mini lesson and perhaps a snowball or two... a what? Snowballs are basically a chance to have a quick dance with others at the social night to break the ice and get to know other dancers more quickly.

As we are all in some stage of learning, these Swing Pits are a great opportunity to practice your dancing without feeling you have to know how to dance. These Swing Pits are also a great night to introduce your friends to the swing scene and meet other dancers from classes around Sydney that might be in their classes.

On the 4th Friday of the month, the class and social dancing will cater more to the general swing crowd. We will have themed nights, and totally awesome tracks pumped out by our wonderful DJ's!
