On Wed 8 Dec we learnt the following in Level 1 and Level 2:

Level 1
Blues dancing basics
  • Blues movement
    • Leads, step across left, pulse, step across right, pulse
    • We taught this in closed position and close hold closed position
    • Simple routine: Step across left, pulse, step across right, pulse, step, step, step, step (and repeat)
  • Teapot step
    • Leads step left and bend upper body to the left so that weight is on the left foot
    • Take-off from the left foot to jump to the left and land on your right foot first, controlling the follow's movement so that you can place her right foot down (and your left) when you choose
Level 2
Blues dancing
  • Blues movement
    • Leads, step across left, pulse, step across right, pulse
    • We taught this in closed position and close hold closed position
    • Simple routine: Step across left, pulse, step across right, pulse, step, step, step, step (and repeat)
  • Drags
    • Leads step backward on left (take your hips back) and push left hand forward at the same time so that your upper body rotates clockwise whilst your lower body rotates the other way
    • Leads then step backward on right (take your hips back) and rotate your upper body anti-clockwise whilst your lower body rotates the other way
    • Follows connect to the lead at the hip and thigh of the leads leg that remains forward, keep upper body upright
    • Follows lunge forward with each backward step the lead takes
  • Move
    • 2 drags starting with step back on left for leads
    • On the 3rd drag, step back with left foot and rotate upper body anti-clockwise so the follow comes around your body into a dip position and hold (some of her weight should be on your left thigh)
    • Leads, un-rotate your upper body and step your right foot forward and release follow into a clockwise free spin
    • Catch the follow's right elbow with your left hand as she rotates and step forward with left foot to collect her energy
    • Pull her towards you into an anti-clockwise spin, place your right hand on her back as soon as you see it come around and catch her right hand in your left, collect her and step back with your left foot into a backwards lunge (drag) and hold
