Its week two for 6 beat and everyone is finding a nice rhythm that was tested tonight with some fast music!
Tonight we covered:
Level 1
6 Beat basic in closed (step-step, pump-land, pump-land)
Tuck turn
Basic in open
Pass-by
Pass-by with switch of hands of 3 & 5 ending with follow behind leads back (leads remain facing forwards)
Returning follows to the front with a blind passby on the leads left.
Level 2
We had hand fun playing with steal moves and had a bit of a chat about the finesse required to this art form to make the moves flow from one parner to the next. Important parts were:
Keep footwork going and avoid jumping in without checking to see if someone is already attempting a steal
Steal from open side of couple
Steal from closed side with arm wrap/snake
Steal from closed side of couple with forward rock-step and sending couple into seperate turns.
Steal from behind the lead when an inside turn is led.
