Video Diaries Are Back! Level 3 Classes Start Next Week 8.30pm.

W elcome to all our new dancers ... dance is a fantastic way to meet new people, exercise and have fun and we are glad to be joining you on your dance journey. In this section of the Swing Patrol Website here you will find news and information particular to Newtown and diary notes of what we taught in class, so you could print out these pages and keep a diary of everything that you've learnt. Also when ever possible we will maintain a weekly video diary of what we taught that week. So if you like what you see then come along to Newtown. The notes and video diary get updated weekly so keep checking every week.

At Newtown we want to give you every opportunity to improve. So every week we will have a video diary that will summaries the moves that we taught in class. Although videos are valuable tool they can never replace the extra attention and technique that is available in class. You can download any diary video by copying the video URL, going to www.keepvid.com and following the website prompts.

Calling advanced dancers: - Level III classes to start March 1st

We will be offering classes geared toward the experienced and advanced swing dancer, In this class we will be pushing your dancing to the next level exploring many advanced dance concepts. Our goal for the Advanced Level 3 class at Newtown to help the students reach the next level of their potential. We have some fantastic concepts and skills that we are just itching to share as well as some kick a@# moves to show you. We're really looking forward to it. L1 Class Summary

Week 2 of basic side by side charleston, we reviewed the basic of side by side charleston and then continued with more cool moves. The Footwork: • 8 Counts • Rock-Step, Kick-Step, Kick Fwrd, Kick Back-Step The Charleston Moves: • Turn on 7 Entry • Hand 2 hand • Back to closed Watch all these moves in the video diary below.

Level 2 - Steal Jam Moves

L2 Class Summary

In this level we worked on some cool steal jam moves for both leaders and followers. BASIC • L2 - The basic steal (Leads &/or Follows Cut through Swing out on 6) • L2 - Pull Through Steal (4 leads to closed) • L2 - Pull Through Steal (4 follows to open) INT/ADV • L2 - Circle Steal (Lead Inside turns follow into closed) • L3 - ByeByeBaby (Follow turn follower with CW turn moving into 4 pos) Watch all these moves in the video diary below.
